Suswa
Today is a holiday for Kenyans coz it's their independence day or
something, so the kids were not in school. I got taken to Suswa outside Nairobi
to see the girls of the Maasi tribe!! They are all vulnerable to sexual abuse
so they come to this school/home until they have learnt how to look after
themselves and become a maasi girl.
I was told not to shake their hands because this is too
westernised for them and they don't want our culture brought over to them so
they approached me by bowing and I had to pat their head! It was really weird!
This place is so basic, they don’t have much at all, their school
has no electricity and everything is very bare. The food was disgusting I tried
i but hated it, its call Githeri... Bleh!!

On the drive over I saw 2 giraffes, 6 baboons along the side of
the road and about 8 zebra!!! The place was beautiful as it was in a place
called Riff Valley, and we stopped at a place called 3rd world View point, so
we could take pictures it was so nice!

I gave these girls the bracelets Lucy made and they absolutely
loved them!! They were so happy when they got them and were all looking at them
for ages! The head teacher was also really grateful! :)
