More Adventures!

National Museum/ Giraffes!!

On Saturday after work the rest of the girls and I went to the National Museum of Nairobi. It was really good! Very interesting! We had to get 2 Matatu buses there, so that was fun! lol We then went to the Snake park, which was really horrible, coz I hate snakes, but I got to hold a chameleon, and TURTLES!! :D

Then today, we went to the Giraffe Centre for endangered Animals. We got to feed the Giraffes! :D This was amazing. We saw some warthogs too. But then we went on a "nature trail" that ended up being more like a safari Hike! The guy took us all the way up this hill where we could see over the top of the canopy of trees. Apparently we were looking for Hyenas but we couldn't see any. We did get so close to a wild giraffe though!! The guy told us to stay 15 meters away. Then it started coming at us so we had to leave quickly back down the big hill!! :P

This is a cross between a giraffe and a Zebra >>>; it’s called an OKAPI :) They are from Central Africa. Monica looked it up and it appears that they are closely related to giraffes but stumpy. No need to be tall to get the leaves as they live in dense vegetation in the rainforest in the Congo.

A giraffe in the wild!!! :)
